We are very sorry to say goodbye to Barkley after three great years with him. He was a wonderful dog and will be sorely missed by everyone in our family. Barkley started his life in Virginia and was brought to Massachusetts for adoption. We adopted him on August 10,2002 from the Sterling Shelter. 

We were told that Barkley is part Dachshund and part Beagle. We fell in love with him because he looked like a Golden Retriever puppy

We didn't want a small dog but we'd already fallen in love with Barkley when we found out that he wouldn't get any bigger.

Barkley's middle name is Evonne's nickname for him. His name sounded so much like the chair and his demeanor fit. Thus, Barka Lounger got turned into Barkley Lounger.
